Steve McBride has been preparing QDROs for attorneys since 2006.  He qualified as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst in 2003 and began mediating divorce cases with complicated financial issues shortly thereafter after considerable training in mediation. His practice is now focused on QDRO preparation.

In addition to private study, he has received training on QDROs and retirement plans from The Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts and the Colorado Bar Association CLE Program.

Steve has a BA in Political Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an MPIA in Economic and Social Development from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public and International Affairs.  He did further post graduate work in Public Policy, focusing on Economic Development. Prior to working in the divorce field, Steve was a management consultant working with private and public companies, and governmental entities, throughout the US, Singapore, the UK , Ireland and Cyprus.

He was a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst until 2020, a Patron of the Colorado Bar Association (member of the Family Law Section) until 2020, a former professional member of the Mediation Association of Colorado, a former founding member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, and a former member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.  He has presented on QDROs to Colorado Bar sponsored training for attorneys.
